SRL offers clinical laboratory testing as our core business, receiving consigned specimens from medical institutions, mainly from hospitals on behalf of their patients, carrying out analyses using advanced technological methods, and proven quality assurance systems and reporting on test results.
Clinical testing is utilized to support every aspect of modern medical care ? for disease diagnoses, elucidation of pathology, determination of treatment plans, monitoring of post-treatment prognosis, health checkups, and so forth. With its establishment in 1970, SRL, Inc. is a latecomer in the clinical laboratory testing industry. However, the company has succeeded in penetrating the market by focusing on testing of complexity as its business field and acquiring large-scale institutions such as university and national hospitals as its customers. Through our more than 80 nationwide business bases and as a consequence of the high standard of our constantly maintained technology and academic knowledge, we are responding continually to requests and inquiries from doctors. Today both esoteric testing and prompt reporting of general testing have become available through both Japan Clinical Laboratories, Inc, merged into SRL in April 2010, and our regional laboratories, which are located in major areas of Japan. Thus we have established the requisite corporate structure to deal effectively with clinical testing in every category from general and emergency testing to esoteric and research testing.
